Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS

A dedicated Pain Medicine OPD, established by the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), was inaugurated on Monday. This facility will provide relief to patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. Executive Director Prof. Amita Jain inaugurated the OPD by cutting the ribbon. She noted that pain is a major cause of disability and distress worldwide. The operation of this OPD will offer significant relief to patients suffering from conditions such as back pain, neck pain, cancer-related pain, neuropathic pain, joint and muscle pain, and persistent post-surgical pain.
OPD Services Offered
- Evaluation and treatment of chronic back and neck pain.

- Cancer pain management.
- Treatment of neuropathic pain.
- Management of joint and muscle pain.
- Pain control in palliative care.

- Treatment of post-surgical and post-traumatic pain.
- Comprehensive assessment of patients with complex and chronic pain.
OPD to operate three days a week

The dedicated pain management OPD will operate three days a week. Dr. Girish Kumar Singh and Dr. Anil Kumar will be available in the OPD on Tuesdays and Fridays. Additionally, on Wednesdays, Dr. Jameel Abdul Alim and Dr. Adabala Vijay Babu will provide patients with advice on pain management.
